In an effort to try to update this blog more often, here’s a post going over Tuesday night’s run against Proto – Ultima.
So this being my first time stepping foot in Temenos, I was not entirely sure what to expect. Another fun thing going in was me being asked to come as my RDM. I will be totally honest and say that this was the first time I had gone to any “major” endgame activity on my Red Mage. So going in, I was a bit tense, as I wasn’t sure what I would be asked to do.
Luckily for me, I just ended up as the Black Mage/Summoner party Red Mage, so Refresh x6 was the order of the day >.>
As for the battle itself, it seemed interesting watching everything happen, and seeing PLDs getting beat down in a flash. Things appeared to go smoothly, even as I watched Paladins die, and then came the “21%” part.
For those that don’t know, when Proto – Ultima goes down to this range of hit points, it unleashes this ridiculous ability called “Citadel Buster”. After a generous 30 second countdown, it unleashes this totally unfair AoE attack that just kills everything in the room with him.
Some heroics by Akatosh, me finally landing my god damn Bio III’s, and a a little regrouping later, Ultima went down, and pieces for Nashira Turban and Gages were won. And for me, 20 more Xbox360 achievement points!
All in all, this was a fun bit of excitement, that I eagerly await taking part in again.

It was an epic fight, one of our more messy Ultimas but at least we won. Glad you had fun I know I did!
