So yeah, how about that great reveal at the SONY press conference?

I was watching the press conference live via the Internet, and seeing the announcement, and the appearance of the “ONLINE” beneath the title got me VERY excited.

FINAL FANTASY XIV

The trailer itself looked very nice. And the parts that we would later learn were in-game footage have me very excited about the way FFXIV is going to look.  I have always liked the more realistic type style that FINAL FANTASY XI has had, so the continuation of that has me very happy.

All this excitement also has me in a bit of a situation. I do own a PlayStation 3, but I have enjoyed playing FFXI on my PC.  I know for certain that there is no way that my PC will be able to play FFXIV anywhere close to smoothly, so I am gonna have to decide: Do I just jump in to XIV on the PS3, or should I just jump in and finally buy a better PC…that has CD/DVD drives that work?  I could use some advice as to what route I should take, lol.

Anyways, my future Final Fantasy online home seems as though it’s going to be quite a bit different that what’s been the norm in Vana’diel.  The idea of dropping the use of experience points for player progression will be an interesting thing to see put into action, and could be quite user friendly, depending on how Square Enix implements it.

2010 for release time gives plenty of time to prepare for the big launch, but you better believe I will try to get into the beta.

Can’t wait!

    I hope you’ll still keep FFXI-ing though! I’m not starting another MMORPG, so people better not all jump ship. ;)

    Hey!! ^^ Yeah I was excited about FFXIV being announced and was floored when the title at the end of the trailer appeared at E3 said online. I am going to try it for sure. Hopefully in the next few months they start throwing a little info our way. I am going to try and get into the beta (been playing XI since NA PC launch hopefully that is a good enough reason to let me into the beta. lol
