Welcome MEMBERS! Allow Me To Introduce Myself, Again!

Hello everyone! Firstly, I would like to introduce you to my personal and FINAL FANTASY XI related blog! Here you will be able to see more about things that I have done in the world of FFXI, as well as events in my real life that I don’t go on about on my MEMBERS journal.

Firstly, let me introduce you, once again, to my character, Rianon. There you see here on the right of this paragraph. She is a Mithra, and has the jobs Red Mage, White Mage, and Scholar leveled up to the cap at level 75.

Rianon began play in October of 2003, when FINAL FANTASY XI was released in North America. There are many other North American players who have more jobs leveled, but I work quite a bit, so I haven’t been about to be able to keep up with everyone else’s leveling fervor, but I think I am doing well for myself under the circumstances.

A Day For Rianon

I started this day, like many others when I have a day off for FFXI, I ran around in the past areas of Vana’diel added in the Wings of the Goddess expansion, and took part in some Campaign battles.

Campaign Battles

These are battles against beastmen armies which are attacking your strogholds, or defending if they currently control the area. Usually, you will also have many NPC allies alongside you battling the enemies.

ffxi_20090323_144649This time it saw the appearance of a line of friendly Faeries, led by the main faerie, Titania.

These little guys will cast many levels of Cure upon you if your life gets low, and will even Raise you if you should be defeated by the swarms of beastmen. They don’t always appear, as the appearance of any friend or foe in these battles seems to be completely random, so I considered myself lucky to see them here.

The battle was won shortly afterwards, and after recieving a nice reward of experience points and allied notes, I left the areas of the past to do some events with my linkshell, DRFChampionEdition.

Battle Against Ouryu

Riverne SIte-#A01Ouryu is a “Wyrm” type monster in Vana’diel, in that he looks a lot like a dragon…but isn’t called that for whatever reason.

He resides in a special battlefield area of Riverne Site-#A01, and area found in the Chains of Promathia expansion. This is a very tricky battle in that, not only are you trying to defeat the Wyrm, you are also having to deal with attacks from elemental monsters, and worms burrowing from underground and casting area of effect magic like Stonega III. Due to this difficulty, it’s suggested you bring a full allince of people, which is 18 other players, and be at or very near to level 75.

OuryuTo try to make a long story short, we managed to perform quite well against the nasty wyrm, with only one KO right at the end. Not bad at all wouldn’t you say?

Proto-Omega

ffxi_20090331_201537Now the fun part came at the end of the night, when our linkshell ran to Central Apollyon to face one, Proto-Omega. Final Fantasy fans may take note from the screenshot that Proto-Omega looks erriely similar to Omega from FINAL FANTASY V. Well initially, this is the case, but midway through the battle, he actually stands up and runs about after people.

Again, to make a long styory short, the battle went a bit rougher then Ouryu. Some KO’s occured when Omega’s HP got lower, and he dispatches Orbs after people, and we kinda lost track of them, but we soon gained our composure, focused, and achieved victory against the multi-legs/armed monster, and some nice loot was won!

After that, I just tended to a few things and helped some friends out witha quest or two, and then came here to post this special entry for you all at MEMBERS.

I do hope you enjoyed this little look at some of the things I do in the world of Vana’diel. This is just the recallinng of a single day’s worth of activities. We do something different all week long, and many different things as well, which is always a great time by all, as it’s all done as a group of friends.
